A live stream typically includes demonstrations, questions, and comparisons that remain useful even after the live broadcast. Editing begins with selecting the segments that work even without the full context of the live stream.

Organize the recording before cutting.

During the live stream, record the moments when a product is demonstrated or a question receives a complete answer. Note the product, the topic, and the approximate time. This marking helps the editor find the content without reviewing the entire broadcast.

Keep a copy of the recording with clear audio. Before reusing it, check if the creator's participation and the materials used allow for editing and republishing.

Choose one question per video

A size cutout might show the product next to a known object. Another might answer how to clean, assemble, or use the item. Trying to combine all these answers into a single piece makes editing difficult and dilutes the information.

Remove greetings, operational pauses, and references that only make sense during a live demonstration. Preserve what sustains the demonstration: the visible product, the explanation, and the conditions necessary to understand its use.

Check offers and information that may expire

A live stream might mention a coupon, price, or stock quantity that is no longer available. Do not post the excerpt as if the condition were still valid. When it is not possible to correct without distorting the speech, select another passage.

Also check that the product shown matches the landing page. Variations in size, model, and accessories need to be clear to those encountering the cut for the first time.

Rate each publication by its function

For a demonstration, check if the audience's questions were answered. For a video with a linked product, monitor the available metrics for the post and sales, using the same analysis window when comparing pieces.

The number of cuts should match the quality of the material. A short broadcast may yield few useful pieces; a long one may repeat the same argument. There is no need to fill a video quota with uninformative excerpts.
